About the Blunt Family

If you’re new to our blog and want to know more about the Blunt Family, we’re glad you’re here!

We help families learn how to plan and afford amazing memory making adventures. If we can do it, you can too! We love to play & travel together and look forward to bringing you the best info on how you can do the same with your family!

With our six kids ranging in age from 1st Grade to College, we’re full on into school, sports, Barbies, Scouts and everything in between. (Queue the calliope music…)

The Blunt Kids

No matter how many kids you have, we have a feeling you also understand what it’s like to make frequent visits to Crazy Town. (Been there lately? We have!)

When you visit Our Woven Journey we want you to feel like you’re chatting with friends.

We want to share our experiences with you and offer info on products and places you might not have heard of before. We want to enlighten (and brighten!) your day with suggestions on ways to make both your travel and everyday life even better. Along the way, we hope you’ll share your ideas with us, too!

You don’t have to be rich to travel like are you, so start dreaming of where you want to go and we’ll teach you how to get there!

So who are the Blunts?

I’m so glad you asked! We’re a perfectly normal family with six perfectly behaved children.

About the Blunt Family Kids

Just kidding. We are the Blunts and we do have six kids, but I’m not so sure we’re normal and we’re definitely not perfect. (Anybody relate?)

Let me introduce our family to you.

About the Blunt Family - Rodney and Karee
Rodney and Karee

I’m Karee and I do the majority of the writing here. Rodney, my high school sweetheart and husband of 32 years (wow, that makes us sound so old!) is definitely my better half. Fortunately, we share many of the same interests. We love to travel together and look forward to bringing you along on our adventures in hopes of sharing something new (aka awesome!) along the way.

About the Blunt Family Kids

We couldn’t have a family travel blog without them, so let me introduce them here.

Madeline & Olivia

Madeline and Olivia are our oldest and came into the family the traditional way, which is rather boring if you ask the other four who are adopted. They are both going to college close enough nearby that they’re able to live at home. (We are so blessed to have this extra time with them!) One is working on an English degree and is an aspiring writer (you may occasionally see some guest posts from her here.) The other just finished nursing school and is working on her RN to BSN while doing her residency at a nearby hospital. That girl was born to be a nurse!

Jackson & Elijah

Jackson and Elijah are both adopted from Russia. They are into all kinds of sports, Boy Scouts and are busy being typical teenage boys. One is all about fashion, could make bank if he had a dime for every time someone complimented him on his gorgeous eyes and is an aspiring yo-yo trickster. (Yes, that’s a real thing!) The other has the face of an angel (don’t let that fool you) can engineer just about anything and can solve the Rubiks Cube with his eyes closed. They’re like a teenage version of the Odd Couple.

About the Blunt Family Kids
Sophia & Bella

Sophia and Bella are both adopted from China. They adore panda bears, Barbies and all things princess related. One is also very much into fashion, baking and planning her future YouTube channel. The other is ridiculously charming and along with becoming a doctor, is someday going to rule the world, starting right here in our own house!

Since adoption is such a big part of our lives, it’s only natural it will come up here at Our Woven Journey. If you have any questions about adopting, especially international adoption, just ask! We’re happy to share what we’ve learned.

One more thing about the Blunt Family…

With my degree in Marketing and Rodney’s in Finance, we’ve also made a pretty good team over the years implementing and teaching family budgeting, including online, at conventions and with our own curriculum and workshops. You’ll see that as a common thread throughout our blog. We aren’t skimpers, but we are firm believers in living within our means, so it’s important to us to continue helping families find ways to affordably do the things they’re passionate about.

We’re a family that loves to have fun together and we try to be intentional about it. Sometimes that means pizza and game night, while other times it means getting away to the beach to reconnect. (Still other times it means Rodney and I get away on trips so that we can reconnect.) We love to host dinners with friends and cook s’mores by the fire pit.

In other words, we’re weaving our lives together one journey at a time and are delighted to have you join us! Be sure to sign up for our newsletter so we can keep in touch. While you’re at it, we’d love for you to connect with us on Facebook and Instagram.

Now that you know about the Blunt Family, it’s your turn! Tell us about yourself and what brings the spice to your life. We look forward to meeting you!

Hearts & Hugs,
The Blunt Family
