We are Karee and Rodney Blunt, owners and publishers of this travel site. We help families learn how to plan and afford amazing memory-making adventures. If we can do it, you can too! We love to play & travel together and look forward to bringing you the best info on how you can do the same with your family.
I (Karee) do the majority of the writing here. Rodney, my high school sweetheart, and husband of 35 years (wow, that makes us sound so old!), is definitely my better half. Fortunately, we share many of the same interests. We love to travel together and look forward to bringing you along on our adventures in hopes of sharing something new (aka awesome!) along the way.
With six kids, our lives have revolved around everything from school, sports, barbies, Scouts, college, weddings, and everything in between. (Queue the calliope music…)
We chose to grow our family in a unique way. Our oldest daughters joined us the old fashioned way. We adopted Jackson and Elijah from Russia and Sophia and Bella from China. No matter how many kids you have or how they joined your family, we have a feeling you also understand what it’s like to make frequent visits to Crazy Town. (Been there lately? We have!)
When you visit Our Woven Journey, we want you to feel like you’re chatting with friends.
We want to share our experiences with you and offer info on products and places you might not have heard of before. Our hope is to enlighten (and brighten!) your day with suggestions on ways to make both your travel and everyday life even better. Along the way, we hope you’ll share your ideas with us, too.
You don’t have to be rich to travel like you are, so start dreaming of where you want to go, and we’ll teach you how to get there!
One More Thing About the Us…
With my degree in Marketing and Rodney’s in Finance, we’ve also made a pretty good team over the years implementing and teaching family budgeting, including online, at conventions, and with our own curriculum and workshops. You’ll see that as a common thread throughout our blog. We aren’t skimpers, but we are firm believers in living within our means, so it’s important to us to continue helping families find ways to affordably do the things they’re passionate about.
We’re a family that loves to have fun together, and we try to be intentional about it. Sometimes, that means pizza and game night, while other times, it means getting away to the beach to reconnect. (Still, other times, it means Rodney and I get away on trips so that we can reconnect.) We love to host dinners with friends and cook s’mores by the fire pit.
