Texas is home to some of America’s biggest and best flea markets. If you love shopping, getting bargain deals, and meeting people, you’ll want to visit these flea markets. It’s a fun way to shop and discover all the things you need and even more things you didn’t know you needed. Flea markets in Texas offer everything from antiques and collectibles to home furnishings, vintage clothing items, and much more.

The best way to browse a flea market? With your favorite people, of course! Whether you spend an afternoon or an entire weekend, heading out to one of Texas’s best flea markets can be quite a fun adventure!

Best Flea Markets in Texas

Whether you’re a local or visiting, it’s always a great time to get out and experience flea markets in the Lone Star State. Here are the best places to visit.

Canton First Monday Trade Days

Canton is perhaps the oldest flea market in Texas, with its beginning dating back over 160 years. It started in the 1850s and was held on the first Monday of each month (as the name implies).

Back then, people went into town to trade horses and perform all sorts of business. First Monday Trade Day quickly became a tradition, and the market has continued to grow in size, popularity, and reputation.

Nowadays, Canton First Monday Trade Days are held once a month, Thursdays through Sunday. How do you know which weekend it will be? That’s easy. Check your calendar for the first Monday of the month. Canton Trade Days will be held the weekend immediately before that Monday.

Canton is arguably the largest flea market in Texas, so come ready to score great prices for all kinds of treasure here!

Where to find: 800 First Monday Ln, Canton, TX 75103

Bussey’s Flea Market

Bussey’s is another excellent place for treasure hunting, finding unique items and antiques. Along with vintage memorabilia, you can also find more modern items from over 500 vendors that show up every weekend. Yes, you read that right. This flea market happens four times a month, so you can shop every weekend if you’d like.

Bussey’s flea market in Texas is particularly ideal if you’re into flipping flea market finds. Since they’re open every weekend, it’s easy to scour the market for cheap items you can fix up to resell at higher prices.

If you’re just discovering flea market flipping is a thing, you’re welcome! Some people make 5-6 figures a year doing it. Not bad for a fun side hustle!

Texas Antique Weekend

The Texas Antique Weekend is a niche flea market for people primarily interested in antiques. And let me tell you, loads of people are interested. Over 100,000 people show up each year for one of the top antique fairs in Texas. The flea market happens twice a year, one in Spring (April/March) and the other in Fall (October).

Here’s the exciting part, this flea market is not a one-weekend or one-day affair; it could go on for several weeks each time. So, if you’re looking for beautiful antique items like Victorian furniture, cookery sets, vintage accessories, or other classic items, this is the ideal flea market in Texas.

Where to find: Antique Weekend is held in several locations, including Fayetteville & Ellinger Area, Carmine, LaBahia & Burton, Oldenburg, Rutersville & LaGrange, Warrenton Area, Round Top Area, and Antique Show Communities.

City-Wide Vintage Sale (formerly City Wide Garage Sale)

Texas is arguably the hottest state in America, so when you find a flea market like City-Wide Vintage Sale that is held indoors, it’s a winner. Holding a flea market outdoor does have its perks, but if you can’t bear the heat, this is where you need to be.

City-Wide Vintage Sale is held several times yearly, with six events happening between June and December 2022. You’ll find top-quality items here, so come prepared to find things you want to purchase as you check out the sale.

This flea market is 40+ years strong. It went from a general item garage sale to a vintage and collectible marketplace, changing its name in 2019.

City-Wide welcomes shoppers, collectors, interior designers, college students, set designers, wardrobe consultants, homeowners, and families.

Where to find: Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704

Cole’s Flea Market

Cole’s flea market is open every weekend, year-round. With over 44 shopping acres, more than 1000 vendors and stalls, and 50+ years of experience in the business, you’re right to expect this to be one of the best flea markets in Texas.

Interested in becoming a vendor and having a booth yourself? The onboarding process is seamless, and the staff here is friendly, so why not give it a try? Cole’s Flea Market is so large, your ability to get in front of large crowds every weekend is a huge plus when you’re just starting out.

Another great thing about Cole’s is that it also has an indoor flea market, which is helpful when you want to shop but the weather is less than perfect.

Third Monday Trade Days

If you’re looking for a more family-friendly flea market in Texas, TMTD is a fantastic option. They have over 450 vendors selling everything from antiques to accessories and even pets. Like Canton First Monday, this flea market has been running since the 1800s.

Third Monday Trade Days recently moved from its original location in McKinney, Texas, to Southfork Ranch. (Yes, the same Southfork Ranch from the classic TV series, Dallas.)

TMTD happens every month on the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) before the third Monday. There’s no cost to get in, but parking costs $5, and the market opens by 8 am.

Where to find: Southfork Ranch, South of the mansion at Gate 5. 3700 Hogge Dr, Parker, TX 75002

Sunny Flea Market

With 35 acres of open space, Sunny flea market welcomes over 30,000 shoppers weekly. You find plenty of booths to browse here because there are so many vendors waiting for you.

Be sure to wear good walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather, because 35 acres is a lot of walking!

If you’re coming with the kids, they’re in for a treat! Sunny’s has a dedicated area where the little ones can play. It’s one reason this family-friendly place is one of the best flea markets in Texas.
